Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Cherry Creek High School! Honors Biology is an introductory college-level science course designed to help students explore the intricacies of the living world and give meaning to every-day phenomena that may be otherwise overlooked or underappreciated. During this course, students will be challenged to learn a number of concepts in the fields of ecology, biochemistry, cellular biology, traditional and modern genetics, evolution, diversity of life, and anatomy. We will focus on using inquiry-based methods in the classroom to think like a scientist, practice lab techniques, question, explore, and critically analyze basic biological principles that govern our existence, and get comfortable answering my favorite questions, “how?” and “why?”.
