Video Lesson for Mitosis
Video Lesson For Cell Cycle (Completed in Class on 12/2)
Textbook Lesson(s):

Vocab: mitosis, interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis, centromere, sister chromatid, spindle fibers, centriole, kinetochore, cleavage furrow

MItosis Cut/Tape Activity
Instructions:
1) Examine the pictures (passed out in class and shown below) of mitosis phases. Order them by placing a number by the corresponding phase: 1) Single cell interphase 2) Prophase 3) Metaphase 4) Early Anaphase 5) Late Anaphase 6) Early telophase 7) Late telophase/Beginning of cytokinesis 8) 2 daughter cell interphase.
2) Once you are confident in your order, neatly cut out all pictures and place them vertically in a single column in your unit guide (See chart). Tape the pictures securely.
3) Next to each photo: name the phase. Describe WHAT CAN ACTUALLY BE SEEN IN PICTURE (chromatin/sister chromatids/chromosomes should be used in all answers).
4) Finally, describe some features that you cannot see in the pictures but are happening during the phase. Use the notes to complete this.
- In your unit guide, simply record the letter of the photo (in order) and the phase seen in the photo.

1) I can list each step of mitosis and explain the current activities of the cell.
2) I can identify all the phases of the cell cycle from examining images.
